Ten's Blorbos in Warhammer 40K

What is Warhammer 40K

Warhammer is a setting created (in 1987) by Games Workshop for their miniature wargame. Aside from the minis themselves, there are rules and sourcebooks for the wargame, novels, TTRPG systems, videogames, animated series, you name it.

There are two 'flavours', a medival fantasy one (Warhammer Fantasy/Age of Sigmar), and a far future sci-fi one, Warhammer 40000. Both settings, but especially Warhammer 40K, are notably bleak and violent. In fact, the term 'grimdark' originates from Warhammer 40K. The primary background of both settings is constant war in a hostile universe.

What is the context for these characters

The characters listed here originate from two contexts within the Warhammer 40K setting:

  • Darktide: a horde shooter video game developed by Fatshark, in which the player characters defend the planet Atoma from the cultists and daemons of the Chaos God of Rot and Disease.
  • Original Rogue Trader RP: an original story written as a freeform RP about characters in service of a Rogue Trader, a powerful and adventorous space ship captain in the Warhammer 40K universe. (There is also a 40K video game called Rogue Trader which is based on the TTRPG of the same name, but this story is not related to either. Rogue Traders are just really useful conceits for more freeform stories in the 40K universe.)
