Description
Nura’s distinct handsome features are accentuated by his deep black hair and pale green eyes. He has two deep single-line scars running across the entirety of his face’s left side as well across his left cheekbone, that are dark and sharp-edged despite their age. As an Arbitrator, Nura is physically fit, but his posture marks him as someone wholly uncomfortable with his own presence.
Personality
Nura does not like people. He is reserved and judgemental toward them, and avoids being around others whenever he can while still functioning within the Arbites. The only beings he shows affection and trust are the Arbites’ cybermastiffs, and especially his own companion, Snowflake. Despite his personal feelings however, he is generally appropriately polite, principled and calm around others, a firm believer in rules and order being the very foundation of a successful Imperium of Man, and he does genuinely try to create some sort of rapport with the (in his opinion) very emotional rejects. Whether he succeeds at it is a different question…
Biography
Summary
Nura went from a happy humble farm life to a strict and solitary life in lex enforcement.
Early Life
Nura spent his early childhood on a humble farm, an unremarkable life of hard working parents and simple peace for the boy. Until it all came crashing down.
Drukhari Raid
There was no warning. One moment Nura was having dinner with his parents and older siblings, the next the entire settlement was beset by Drukhari raiders. Nura’s parents had the wherewithal to hide their youngest in a shabby old locker and bar its doors just before the xenos burst in.
Too terrified to make a sound, young Nura could only hear the raid… the screams, the crying, the begging, the sounds of brutal torture. The raid took only 16 minutes, after which every living soul of the settlement had either been gruesomely killed or taken.
Except for one small boy, who was saved only days later by local Enforcers. Naturally, the child’s mental state was more than fragile, yet somehow, he not only endured the ‘education’ of the Schola Progenium but came out the other end as a mostly functioning man.
Bibliocrypt
While Nura was perfectly capable of cooperation with his lex mates, it was always abundantly clear that he was not sociable to say the least and vastly preferred the kill-dogs, which he bonded with easily and quickly, to his fellow humans.
It was only natural then to assign him to one of the most solitary duties of an arbitrator: guardianship of a bibliocrypt. The vast and ancient halls of the Imperial libraries hold literary temptations for cultists, dark hiding places for lexbreakers and labyinthine refuges for wild beasts and even daemonic creatures summoned by consumption of the wrong texts; and only the truly disciplined arbites and their trained bloodhounds could navigate and cleanse these dangers.
There could not be a more fitting duty to Nura, and his long, solemn, often days-long patrols amongst the countless texts, especially those of the Lex Imperialis, not only provided purpose but also stimulation to a man who enjoys the quiet, stable activity of reading, memorising and analyzing.
Current
When the battle for Tertium spread to Throneside, Nura was called upon to work together with the Mourningstar’s strike teams, bringing both his professional skill and his knowledge of Bibiliocrypt processes to the cause. Begrudgingly.
Relationships
Rossa
As if it wasn’t bad enough that he has to babysit a strike team of reprobates, he doesn’t even get to do it alone. His colleague Rossa has likely been paired with him because she, too, has an especially tight bond with her kill-dog and a strong appreciation for the lex. But those commonalities aren’t enough… Nura bristles at his lexmate’s violent behaviour and erratic judgements, and her arrogance grates on him.
Salar
The most confounding member of the team. A witch and a lexbreaker who lacks any sense of boundaries, yet also one of the most disciplined men he has ever met with a clear moral fortitude. Most perplexing of all, Snowflake likes him? ?? ? ?
Nulloch
The team’s second veteran is an exercise in frustration to Nura. No respect for anything, including the lex, a foul mouth who somehow is not afraid of voicing his desires to commit offenses… and somehow gets away with it all the time. Nura can only imagine that the veteran is not being taken seriously by their superiors due to his age… nothing else could explain how it can be that Nura spends two thirds of his evenings on just his Nulloch reports, and yet the man is there on the next mission as if nothing ever happened.
Zhedd
Nura has a healthy respect for the Cadian member of the team (and is especially confused how someone like that ended up on the wrong side of the lex). He considers Zhedd to be an impressive soldier with an admirable dedication to both his duty and his lost home. He finds it all the more unfortunate that Zhedd seems to put most people off with his demeanour.
(Perhaps he sees a bit of himself in the man...)
Aglaia
A psyker and a convict she may be, but Nura can clearly see her genuine dedication for the lex and believes it redeems her greatly. He does however worry about how emotional she is, considering her dangerous nature.
Abilities
Due to his solitary patrol work in the bibilocrypts, Nura is most focused on survival and durability.
Strengths- Riot Shield: In Nura’s hands, the heavy iconic riot shield is both a bulwark and a deadly weapon
- Dog: Nura and his cybermastiff Snowflake are a perfect team. She is specialised in tracking and scouting, sniffing out hidden and far away enemies before they can ambush Nura.
- Memorisation: Nura's mind is a steeltrap, a veritable encyclopedia on the lex and related information
- Interpersonal: he struggles understanding and connecting to people, having to approach any social interaction, especially when related to emotions, as a set of rules and mechanics
- Spontaneity: making decisions on the fly or on instinct is practically impossible, he requires data and research and preparation for everything

Extra Notes
- If the drukhari raid had never happened, he would have grown up into a demi man who loves men. But it did happen, and that experience and those that followed deeply marked him.
