Once an Enforcer in Hive Terium, Salar now works for Inquisitor Grendyl to cleanse the corruption of Nurgle from Atoma.

Description

Salar is a 50 year old human with a round face and features that always make him look a bit more sour than he is. His dark skin is weathered and he has several old burn scars on his face, neck and shoulders. He keeps his prematurely greyed hair in a playful but always immaculate and practical style. His blind eyes are a milky white and surrounded by laugh-lines. Salar has several tattoos, most prominently that of an eye on his forehead. He prefers slim and sturdy clothes which he keeps in the best shape he can.

Personality

Salar is a people person. Good-natured, personable and patient, he has no trouble making friends despite being a ‘freak’, and he does so relentlessly. He can occasionally be melancholic, but most of the time, Salar shows optimism and an unshakable desire to find joy or comfort in even the bleakest situations. His positivity is however by no means naivety… when necessary, Salar exercises ruthless pragmatism just like any other experienced soldier of the Imperium.

Biography

Summary
Salar has led a –by a psyker’s standards– notably peaceful and prosperous life, both on his homeplanet Crucis, and his adult life on Atoma. And yet he has now found himself forcefully conscripted into a war against the Ruinous Powers.

Early Life
Born on Crucis to a family of low rank datasmiths, Salar had his life all laid out for him. He joined the Administrates as soon as he could and was on his way to become a scribe. His psychic awakening however changed his fate, earning him first the fear and scorn from his peers, and then his long harrowing training at the Scholastia.

Psychic Awakening
During his apprenticeship with the Adeptus Administrates, a barely adult Salar began to first hear, and soon speak nonsensical words and phrases without remembering afterward. His teachers and peers first assumed him to simply be overcome by stress, but as his inexplicable fits continued, the uncomfortable tolerance by those around him turned to fear and revulsion. It was very obvious to everyone that Salar was abhuman, and despite his insistence that he harboured no ill thoughts and his pleading to give it just a bit more time, he was soon reported to the local Enforcers

Grueling Training
Under the circumstances, Salar was lucky to be considered strongwilled enough for training, rather than being immediately shipped off to Terra. However, that’s where his luck ended. As it is for all Psykers, he had to undergo harsh and unforgiving training at the Scholastia Psykana, which left him with many scars, both physical and emotional. Most impactful was his early training under a Psyker who assumed the young man to be spoiled and complacent, and thus forced Salar to his very limits many times no matter the suffering it caused. One such incident cost Salar his eyesight as he was forced to stare into the Warp unprepared. Another left him with several frostburn scars after training beyond exhaustion.

An Ill-Advised Letter
During his time with the Atoman Enforcers, Salar managed to entrench himself as a respectable and trustworthy man, largely due to his friendly nature and proven discipline. His colleagues’ appreciation went even so far as to entrust Salar with mentoring a new psyker recruit without any notable oversight. Having grown complacent within this social and professional position, Salar decided to tackle a problem that had been weighing on him since his youth: the blatant corruption of a powerful Deacon on his homeworld of Crucis which he had discovered during his apprenticeship at the Administrates. Together with Aglaia, who shared his anger at the injustice and abuse of power, he penned a letter exposing the Deacon and sent it to several Crucian authorities. However, neither his physical distance to Crucis nor his position as an Enforcer was enough to protect him from the wrath of a scorned church official. Soon after the letter found its recipients, Salar and Aglaia were arrested for being Unfaithful. With no support from any of Salar’s ‘friends’, the Psyker was shipped off to a prison transport.

Current
In an unexpected turn of events, the two Psykers’ future in prison was averted by the ‘recruitment drive’ of Inquisitor Grendyl. Able to prove his worth and loyalty to the Inquisition aboard the Mourningstar, Salar hopes he has, once again, found a proper place for himself that allows him to continue serving Atoma and Mankind.

Relationships

Aglaia
The younger Psyker was entrusted to his mentorship when she joined Atoma’s Enforcers, and Salar immediately took it upon himself to give her the support, comfort and practical lessons she had been much denied until that point. The two bonded over their shared trials, their common ideals and their love for fine culture. To Salar, who had often dreamed of –but never expected to have– a family, Aglaia is the closest thing to a daughter he could wish for.

Zhedd
The abrasive Cadian was one of the first members of the team Salar met, and is perhaps the most difficult for him to befriend… but Salar is undaunted by the challenge. Despite Zhedd’s near constant anger and rejection, Salar enjoys the Veteran’s presence and has over time managed to earn his begrudging respect, a sliver of trust… and hopefully one day some semblance of friendship.

Nulloch
The team’s other Veteran is one of the easiest to befriend people Salar has met in many years. His extremely laid-back worldly attitude and relatively high tolerance for abhumans instantly made Nulloch a pleasant presence to have around, though sometimes he is perhaps a bit too… worldly for Salar’s taste, specifically during missions. Off-mission however, they spend plenty of time together in the cantina to gamble, drink and share war stories with other crew members… and perhaps a few times behind the cantina for other activities.

Damaris
With a healthy distrust of Zealots, Salar would rather not have to deal with any of them… but his strike team is what it is and Salar is determined to be on peaceful terms with all its members. To complicate matters, this Zealot specifically has caught the eye of Aglaia, and Salar is not about to ignore the woman his sibling is intimate with. He tries his best to get along with Damaris, and sometimes, he can see a softer side and an honest side of her. But as much as he tries, she still irritates and worries him greatly.

Ygramorn loves intense sensation, and what sensation is more intense than fucking? (Well, fighting but that's not necessarily mutually exclusive...)
Before his life imploded dramatically, he had an impressive collection of strapon dildos —all psychically connected to his physical senses of course— which got very thoroughly used on many people (mostly his crew). Now that he is aboard a voidship full of humans, he'll have to distract himself from his natural needs...
