A relatively short man of average build, Anatol has fawn skin and red hair, which he keeps long and held back in a ponytail. (He somewhat tries to make it look neat for the office, but any neatness is shortlived.) Early Life
Born the second grandchild to Russian immigrants, Anatol grew up [REDACTED]. As a teenager, he started to become interested in computer programming and video games and started to write his own small games.
Event 1
He moved to London to study Computer Sciences and work on his most ambitious video game to date in his free time. The theories and research of his personal hero, Alan Turing, provided both material for his code and constant motivation for his studies.
Event 2
His attempt at creating an unprecedented level of NPC responsiveness resulted in the near summoning of an eldritch demon which put him on the radar of The Laundry. He was more or less forcefully recruited by a tightlipped but patient Cleaner and his comically stereotypical strongman. Together, they contended with the effects of his game being prematurely released and getting a number of innocents possessed and killed.
Current
Showing a talent for using code to cast spells, and especially to identify and control entities, Anatol has joined the Department of Arcane Analysis and become an Exorcist. He hopes to quickly gain a high enough position in the bureau to be able to save as many people from demonic possession as possible.

Abilities
Powers- Computational Sorcery: through the use of code (he prefers Ruby and Python, but C+ will do in a pinch) he can cast literal spells. His focus is so far on entity control and analysis.
- Coding: Anatol wields programming language like they are natural, to the degree than he can write several pages complex code on paper without much difficulty. Compiling errors are for babies (or uncaffeeinated adults to be fair).
- Analytical thinking: He is a problem-solver, quick on the uptake and comfortable spending considerable time thinking through numerous possibilities.
- Not touching enough grass: As a certified nerd, he spent most of his adult life with computers, the internet and international entertainment media, and as such does not deal well with the mundane realities of british life.
