What is FFXIV

Final Fantasy XIV is an MMORPG in the FInal Fantasy series, created by Square-Enix, specifically by Creative Studio III under Naoki Yoshida. It has technically been running since 2010, however its initial release was extremely unsuccessful and it was rebooted in 2013, to a resounding success.

The player assumes the roles of the Warrior of Light, an adventurer come hero who must protect the world they live in from scheming villians, destructive gods and elemental catastrophes.

The main themes of the game are the importance of cooperation and friendship, and, as pithy as it may sound, the meaning of life.
